This is why I work in advertising

In every business there are parts of the job or industry that others can take to an extreme and make fun of....ad agencies included.

For my co-workers that may see this I put the disclaimer on my post that I do not feel this way about those of you in other departments....BUT with that disclaimer this video certainly made me laugh today and reminded me why I love the world of advertising!

JDRF Children's Congress

On January 5, 2011 our oldest daughter received a pretty exciting letter that both her and her sister were selected as a delegate for the 2011 JDRF Children's Congress to be held June 20-22 in Washington, D.C.!

The letter read:
Out of nearly 1,200 applications that were received, your powerful and personal submission led to your selection as one of only 150 delegates. As a 2011 Children's Congress delegate, you will be representing not only the children with diabetes in your home state, but all of the children with diabetes in our nation. Your participation will demonstrate to the leaders of our country why it is so critical that we work together to find a cure for diabetes. In Washington, you will have the opportunity to meet with lawmakers and help them put a face on diabetes and the need for a cure.

Being selected as a Children's Congress delegate is a great honor, but the selection brings with it a great deal of responsibility as well. Over the next several months leading up to our gathering in Washington, you will be asked to create a personal scrapbook to share with your Representative and Senators, make public appearances and do media events in your area.

As a parent, I can't put into words how proud I am of both girls and know they will do an amazing job in D.C. In prep for the trip, each girl was asked to put together a video. Below you can check out the videos for Children's Congress.

Together, our voices in Washington will make a tremendous impact and help us realize our dream of a cure of diabetes.
