Numbers are pretty important....there are other things that mean much more

Well it is another day in our house and the numbers for today are....
7:05 am 133
11:01 am 174
11:50 am 98
3:33 pm 154
6:47 pm 279

AND

7:16 am 322
8:10 am 349
9:38 am 134
10:46 am 47
11:04 am 107
12:38 pm 140
12:49 pm 119
1:03 pm 94
1:54 pm 72
3:33 pm 205
6:42 pm 241

One set of numbers represents a normal day and pretty good numbers, the other a day that is a little tougher.

We have two daughter and both have type 1 diabetes http://www.diabetes.org/type-1-diabetes.jsp. Versus fixating on the numbers though....let's look at the girls that really are the ones that know the numbers way to well.

We look at our girls and are amazed at the strength they show us. Yes, they have to test each day and take shots or enter their levels into a insulin pump.....but they are two of the most amazing kids. No, they don't get to use diabetes as an excuse for anything. Yes, they can have bad days just like all of us.

But, we know we are only dealt what we can handle and in this we have learned what we can endure as a family and have seen strength in our kids that we couldn't imagine was there.

Some of us watch numbers or the time of day for our next appointment/meeting or for something coming up. We record and watch numbers, but know there is much more out there than numbers.
